Turn Left Racing
Turn Left Racing, based in Concord, North Carolina formerly Nichols Motorsports was founded in 1998. Founder and driver Matt Nichols has extensive expertise and knowledge of NASCAR racing. Matt’s first time ever driving a race car, which was rented, Matt led every lap and was almost guaranteed victory his first time out, however a carburetor problem on the last lap let him down. Matt drove in the NASCAR Short Track Series, racing trucks in 1998 & 1999. Matt finished 20th in points in 1998 and 9th in points in 1999.Matt was invited to an invitation only race at Stockton 99 Speedway in 1999 due to his driving ability. In 2000, Matt raced in the Big 10 series at Concord Motorsports Park. Matt also traveled to Alaska in 2000 to race at the farthest north NASCAR track. In a borrowed race truck and race car, Matt raced ten races in two different divisions. While in Alaska Matt won a pole award, won five races and finished second in the other five races. In 2001 Matt raced in the NASCAR Slim Jim / Hills Brothers All Pro Series, a NASCAR touring series. In November of 2014 Matt started in a 41 car field for a 100 lap Enduro race and finished in tenth place. In 2015, Matt is planning to run the NASCAR Whelen All American Series at Caraway Speedway.
Turn Left Racing also plans to field a quarter midget race car driven by his son Mason Nichols at the North Carolina Quarter Midget Racing Association in Salisbury, N.C.
